J. Farré a Barcelona luthier, was a cabinet maker, when in 1954 he began building guitars out of love for the instrument. In 1956 he went to work for the Firm Guitarras Estruch-- already a large Barcelona factory, and worked there until 1965. Later, he became the manager of the Guitarras Taurus factory, directing it until 1975 when he decided to open his own workshop. He builds guitars based on the designs and data that he inherited from Domingo Prat, professor of music of the Conservatory of Music of Buenos Aires. He makes around 25 guitars a year.
