Dear all

This year the Incontri Chitarristici di Gargnano in Italy will be held from 23rd August (on the 22nd are the auditions for the class) till the 4th of September. The master class with Oscar Ghiglia, Massimo Lonardi and myself will be held from the 23rd of August to the 1st of September and the competition from the 2nd of September to the 4th.

Till the website gets updated, here is the program for this year's competition. Notice that in the second round it is not anymore required an entire Suite by Bach but only the Prelude plus two movements, or otherwise Prelude Fugue and Allegro BWV 998 (complete). Please forward it to anyone who might be interested. If anyone needs further information, please do not hesitate to write to me.

Programa de concurso:

I. Round (eliminatory): performance, of the following works:
A. – Manuel Maria Ponce two preludes (free choice from the 12 Preludes that Segovia has published)
B. – John Dowland The Frog Galliard

II. Round: performance of the following compositions:
A. – performance of the Prelude and two movements (free choice) of one of the following lute suites BWV 995 – 996 – 997 – 1006 A or Preludio Fuga Allegro BWV 998 from J.S.Bach;
B. – one original piece for guitar, not exceeding ten minutes;

III. Round (final): free choice performance of a programme, original for guitar, including works of XIX (Classic or Romantic) and XX century, 25-30 minutes.
