The Calcutta Festival is the first ever event of this genre in India. Internationally acclaimed Russian composer, guitar maestro and the living legend Nikita Koshkin has consented to naming of the international guitar competition after him. He will also be the Chairman of the Jury.

With Nikita Koshkin, Pavel Steidl, Frank Bungarten, Carlé Costa, Denis Azabagic, José Antonio Escobar, Petri Kumela, Marcin Dylla, Gabriel Bianco, Asya Selyutina, Nutavut Ratanakarn, Cavatina Duo, Eugenia Moliner, Bobby Rootveld, Duo NIHZ, Debojyoti Mishra, Abraham Mazumdar, it will be a spectacular celebration, spread over 5 days with more than 60 high-octave fun-filled hours of classical guitar. Highlighting World Premiere of 2010 Compositions of Nikita Koshkin, Carlé Costa and Debojyoti Mishra, over 100 private master classes, 15 concerts by guitar legends and maestros never before seen in India, 9 seminar style public master classes open to all, $ 16,000 of prize money (highest in any guitar festival in Asia), 3 Grand Prizes, 8 Special Prizes for best guitarist from every continent and India and best player of Koshkin and Asian compositions, the Calcutta Festival will be a bonanza for classical guitarists all over the world.

The Festival has three all-inclusive (15 concerts, 9 seminars style public master classes, 1 private master class, many jam sessions) packages:

Residential (Star Hotel) near venue– US$ 300 or INR 15,000 (6 days accommodation + 5 days 4 meals per day)
Residential (Dormitory) at Festival Village – US$ 130 or INR 6,500 (6 days accommodation + 5 days 4 meals per day)
Non-Residential – US$ 100 or INR 5000

We want to attract more competing as well as non-competing participants from your country - we are keen to have guitarists come in just to enjoy the concerts, classes and seminars at the festival (not not mention the daily after-event parties).
